This 1998 Mercedes-Benz S500 was sold on BaT in July 2021 before it was acquired by the seller in 2022, and it now has 54k miles. Subsequent work included the installation of 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels and replacing the tires, assorted brake components, and the headliner on the sunroof shade. Powered by a 5.0-liter V8 linked with a five-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over gray leather and equipped with xenon headlights, soft-close doors, heated power-adjustable front seats, a cassette stereo, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a Bose sound system. This V140 S500 sedan is now offered with a first aid kit, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic and features matching lower cladding. Exterior equipment includes a powered sunroof, double-pane side glass, retrofitted window tinting, soft-close doors, a power antenna, and xenon headlights with wipers. The rear bumper cover was refinished under previous ownership. The Carfax report lists damage in a February 2023 entry, and the seller notes that the top portion of the car was subsequently repainted to address branch scratches sustained in an ice storm.
This is a relist after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in May 2025 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner’s participation on BaT has been restricted.
The 18″ AMG Monoblock alloy wheels were installed under current ownership, and they are mounted with 255/45 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires that show 2021 production codes. The car was factory equipped with Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) traction control. Braking is handled by ventilated rotors at each corner. The seller notes that one of the front shocks was replaced along with the brake light switch and the brake pads, rotors, and wear sensors in 2022.
The seats are upholstered in gray leather, while burl walnut wood trim accents the cabin. Amenities include heated power-adjustable front seats with position memory as well as a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and cruise control. Wear is visible on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. The sunroof headliner was replaced under current ownership, and the seller tells us the sunroof shade does not fully retract because the material is too thick.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, instant fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 54k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. The oil was most recently changed in June 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
The Carfax report lists the aforementioned damage entry.
