BaT Meet-Up, June 8 in Portland, Oregon, with 911r—Gallery Updated!

6/13 Event Coverage Update: Wow! As so many of you have commented—what a blowout! We initially had a street and an alley closed off for the Portland event, but we ended up using every other street, alley, parking lot, loading dock, and driveway that looked convincing enough as a parking spot for blocks in every direction!

We couldn’t have done it without the staff and family at Avant-Garde Collection, and a special shout goes to their neighboring businesses—nearly all of whom were gracious enough to offer up extra room for the mob.

Hundreds of cars, thousands of people, a great facility full of world-class iron to base everything around, and an unseasonably sunny 95-degree day in the Pacific Northwest conspired to make this one for the books.

With so much going on it was hard to pick favorites, but standout cars nestled in this industrial corner of Portland included the tastefully modified four-headlight C1 Corvette that parked right next door to the BaT tent, rough-and-ready vintage off-roaders befitting the larger environs, and a white/gold Edsel with a Sunliner roof conversion, which was a constant draw for the audience.

Several very special Alfas were joined by a Barbie-themed Consulier GTP and matching Honda sportbike, all manner of hot ’60s Mustangs, two Mitsubishi Pajero Evos, and a host of vehicles competing for the “Most Orange” prize, with most upstaged by the electric tangelo Ultima RS parked right in the middle of everything.

The A-GC shop and storage facilities hosted food, coffee, and live music against an impressive array of eye candy including, between them, a silver Enzo, a Group B homologation Lancia Delta S4 Stradale, and three NASCAR racers tucked innocently away in the back.

6/5 Update: Our Portland Meet-Up is happening this weekend, and we’re looking forward to seeing as many of you as can make it! Parking for show cars will be available at Avant-Garde and is accessible via North Interstate Avenue and North Thompson Street, the latter of which will be closed to through traffic. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is free for all, and we’ll have complimentary refreshments and swag (while supplies last). We hope to see you there!

There must be “something about” the Pacific Northwest, because the region has long been a haven for a strong and diverse car culture. We’re happy to announce that our next BaT Meet-Up is coming up in Portland, Oregon, hosted by none other than BaT seller and Local Partner 911r at their Avant-Garde Collection facility. The event will take place on Sunday, June 8, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, and it’s free to attend!

This isn’t the first time we’ve been hosted by Avant-Garde, and 911r is once again generously providing an open house for those in attendance.

BaT Meet-Ups are more casual affairs than our full-scale Alumni Gatherings, so no registration is required—just show up, bring a cool vehicle if you have one, and shoot the breeze with BaT community members and staff. We’ll be there to welcome you with some complimentary refreshments and swag (while supplies last).

Parking for show cars will be available at Avant-Garde and the adjacent North Thompson Street, which will be closed to through traffic to accommodate as many of you as we can! Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please come near the beginning of the event to maximize your chance of getting the best spot! Additional parking, including for spectators, can be had on neighboring streets.
