1960s

For many, the 1960s represent a golden era – and the decade was certainly a high water mark in America's obsession with the automobile. Big-block V8s and limited-slip differentials could be optioned in everything from small sport coupes to family station wagons. Ford took on Ferrari and won. Trans-Am and Can-Am raced their first seasons, and F1 cars sprouted wings. We even listened to songs about cars on the radio. It's no wonder that today's car manufacturers reach back to the 1960s when trying to inject more excitement into their modern lineups.
